Homework - General

*Please let your teacher know as soon as possible if you have any issues with your homework. This could be verbally or a written note in your child’s Learning Journal.

Arithmetic Homework Information:

Each week you will be set some arithmetic style questions to be completed in your homework book by the following Tuesday. 
You need to copy out the question and answer it in pencil. If it is a worded problem, the you will need to answer this in a full sentence. 
Any jottings should be on the right hand side of the page.

 

Reading Homework Information:

All children at HGJS are expected to read for 15 minutes each day.
On some of the week days you will be set a task and this will count towards your 15 minutes of reading. 

Times Tables Rock Stars

Each week you will be completing regular times tables practice. It is important that you do this little and often. You will be set a certain number of levels to complete each week, which can be found in the maths homework section of your Learning Journal.

Homework - Current

 

You will find all homework tasks on showbie. They will need to be completed in your green book with a date and title. 

 

Maths arithmetic is set on a Wednesday and is normally due for the following Wednesday.

 

Reading homework is set throughout the week. Your child should be reading 15 minutes per day. Reading homework contributes towards these 15 minutes.

 

Times Table Rock Stars - You must complete an activity on three separate days for 10 minutes each day.

 

 

Spelling - Children who have any spellings in their Learning Journals will also have a spelling task to complete. You must write the word out five times and write a sentence which includes the word.Click here to see an example of how to set your spelling homework.
