Our last inspection was on 13 and 14 January 2026.
We were inspected under a brand new system that was published in November 2025 and the first schools were inspected in December 2026.
We were inspected right at the beginning of this framework.
The one word outcome judgement has gone.
Schools will now receive a ‘report card’, showing colour coded gradings for different areas of education.
The new gradings are on a 5 point scale:
Exceptional - among the very top nationally (this will rarely be given).
Strong Standard - showing consistent, excellent practise that is making a real difference. The school is going above and beyond what is expected.
Expected Standard - school is doing everything it should be to ensure children receive the education and support that they should.
Needs Attention - highlights areas to develop and is a chance to improve. This is not a failure.
Urgent Improvement - signals a serious concern that must be fixed quickly.
Safeguarding is either unmet or met.
It is going to be normal for each school to have a range of these grades across the different areas inspected.
Each report card will also include descriptions of what inspectors found.
The report cards are meant to help parents understand what life is like for your child at the school, see the strengths of the school and areas for development.
The new gradings do not correlate to the previous ones. So a previous good does not match to a new expected.
In fact, it is much harder to get expected or above under the new framework.
