Year 4
Welcome back Year 4.
We hope you’ve enjoyed your break and you’ve had time to rest, reset and refresh. We’re looking forward to an exciting new half term!
For this module, we are going to be going to be taking note of things that are all around us, in the real world. This module will help us to make decisions in - what can be realistic - situations and help us to take responsibility for our choices.
Have a read of the following poems and see if you can work out what our new module is all about...
I love to go swimming in a swimming pool,
I try my very best to obey every rule,
I always make sure an adult is with me,
I want to be safe as safe as can be.
When I go swimming, I have lots of fun,
But I don’t do tricks, or get too much sun,
A lifeguard is there to watch over me,
I want to be safe as safe as can be.
Stop, look, and listen
before you cross the street.
Use your eyes and use your ears
before you use your feet.
Look to your left
then look to your right
and to your left once more.
You must be really careful.
That’s what rules are for!
Learning Journals should be in school everyday as new information about reading books, trips, letters, homework and upcoming events will be added to it throughout the week. Homework books should also be brought in daily - make sure you check your homework timetable to see when homework is due.
So that we can get our learning off to a quick start, please make sure PE kits are in school everyday (take a look at our prospectus and Learning Journals to double check what is needed). Each item should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Water bottles should be brought into school daily to ensure children are hydrated and should have a sports cap.
