Tuesday 19 November. School is open as normal despite the snow!

Year 3

We hope you had a wonderful half term. Now it’s time to dig in and a start our next learning adventure.

Can rocks tell stories? What a strange thought!

We know they can’t talk, so how can they tell us anything? Many believe that rocks and stones are the best storytellers in the world. This half term we will try to unlock the secrets that rocks hold.

To do this we will need to travel through time…

Have you ever wondered what life was like in Britain thousands and thousands of years ago? Where did people live? How did they get food? What was special about the tools they used?

We are very lucky, there is evidence of life in Hall Green dating back over 10,000 years - I wonder if you can find out where it is?

Things to remember

To avoid lost items, please make sure all school uniform and PE kits are clearly labelled with your child’s name. PE kits will be sent home every other week to be washed and returned on Monday.

Learning Journals need to be in school everyday and must be signed by an adult every Thursday.

The Year Group staff are:

Year Co-ordinator / Teaching and Learning Lead - Mrs Goodman

Class 3.1 - Miss Balderson

Class 3.2 - Miss Fawcett

Class 3.3 - Miss Mehmood

Class 3.4 - Miss Begum

Mrs Demu is the teaching assistant working in year 3.

Each child is allocated to a class and has a named class teacher.

As well as this, the classes will also be taught by other staff.
For core subjects (maths and reading) children may have other teachers leading their lessons, as we create different groupings to target their current needs and close any gaps in learning. These groupings still follow the same curriculum.
If you have any questions please speak to Mrs Goodman.
